Description		    Rare digest of the halakhot applicable for tefillah and tefillan, necessary for every man in synagogue and bet midrash as arranged by R. Samuel Krausz. Kizzur Dini ha-Tefillah ve-Tefillin, one of only eight booklets printed in Balkany, is not recorded in many bibliographic works, for example the Bet Eked ha-Sefarim, nor is it to be found in mostg major collections of Hebraica. There is an approbation from R. Hayyim Mordecai Jacob av bet din in Miskaltitz followed by the introduction of R. Krausz. He writes that although the laws of tefillah have been printed in abridged form in many siddurim, nevertheless, in the overwhelming majority of siddurim these halakhot are lacking. Because of the difficulties of the time and the yoke of supporting oneself often a person is often in doubt as to the proper halakhah at the time of tefillah, even a person who has learned hilkhot tefillah in the Shulhan Arukh O. H. R. Krausz inquired of leading contemporary rabbis who concurred to the printing of Kizzur Dini ha-Tefillah ve-Tefillin for the entire year, selected from the Shulhan Arukh and later authorities. Even in siddurim that have halakhot on tefillah are lacking these halakhot which are necessary for each and every person at the time of prayer. The text, in a single column in rabbinic letters, is a comprehensive if abbreviated source of the pertinent halakhot on prayer and tefillin.
