An issue of this journal, labelled Vol. I, No. 1 "Special Easter Number" and in Yiddish "Pesah Number". May, 1922. The price is listed as 15 cents a copy and $1.50 for a year's subscription. [It was to be a monthly].
The journal is mostly in Yiddish, with 3 pages and a title page in English. The English introduction states: "A magazine written in the language which he [the immigrant] can read and understand will acquaint him with America and with the spirit of American institutions."
There are many varied articles, including humor, and sketches of fashions, articles on the Yiddish and English theater, etc. Some of the interesting things include the advertisements, such as p.12, where a Yiddish ad labelled "a gift for the housewife" shows the latest in irons. Page 18 has an ad for a Premier vacuum cleaner. Page 22 -- "will your children pay the penalty" in an ad for Nujol (for bowel regularity), etc. Also ads for sewing patterns for women and children.
