A booklet in English, Hebrew and Yiddish containing "special prayers to be recited in the present war-time for victory". It has title pages in both English and Yiddish, and an introduction entitled "Letter from the Chakover Grand Rabbi concerning the Tfiloh" signed by R.J. Halberstam.
The English introduction states: "These prayers should be said every day by the soldier or a relative (i.e. a father, mother, wife, child, bride, mother-in-law, etc) or a friend."
R. Yaakov Halberstam (d.1967) was known as the Chakava Rebbe. He was a scion of the Sanz dynasty and he founded the Divrei Hayyim Yeshiva in Jerusalem. |
