Description		    Letter by R. Isaac Eizig b. Meir Shorr (1836-1894), chief rabbi of Bucharest. He was born in Radauti and educated there by his father till age 12. He then entered the yeshiva of R. Aaron Moses Tobias, his grandfather and rabbi of Jassy. In 1869 he came to Bucharest to assist his father-in-law, R. Levi Isaac Frankel-Ashkenazi, in the rabbinate, by 1873 he was appointed to replace him and served for over 30 years. R. Shorr was an outstanding scholar and responded to queries from the entire world. He wrote at least 10 works (published) and numerous responsa that appear in contemporary works.
