Detailed
Description
Tri-lingual Polish, Hebrew, and Cyrillic announcement certifying the kashrut of various butcher shops in Warsaw by the Warsaw rabbinate (Badatz). The Hebrew text, in the middle column notes the locations certified, giving names and addresses of several places under their supervision. It also informs that also other locations supervised by them are reliable. Those individuals who are mehadrin can purchase meat in these places without any concern or reservations. The certification is signed by sixteen rabbis. An interesting feature of the certification concerns the Hebrew date, Sunday, 9 Adar 5663 (February 23, 1903). That date is not given correctly, the Hebrew describing it as לפ"ק, that is the abbreviated era, which would make the date 1908 (Tuesday, January 28, 1908). What it should have said is לפ"ג, the full era, in which the ה would not be part of the enumeration but would stand for the firth millennium, thus giving the desired date of 1903.
