Description		    Only edition of this commentary on Song of Songs by R. Zevi Hirsch ben Meir (b. 1772). The title page informs that it is a desirable commentary on Song of Songs by the author of Kelil Tiferet (1820), which are discourses. R. Zevi Hirsch is from Leslo and was born in Makavo. In Zevi Tiferet will be found two commentaries; one is an explanation of the text in a correct and straightforward manner, so that all will say for me for me and will find rest for his soul (nofesh le-nefesh)and will sing this song to the Lord with proper intent; the second explanation is on the Massorah, for those who desire the words of our rabbis, to understand the words of the sages and their conundrums. In it will be found many explanations from the words of early sagews, among them the Ibn Ezra, Ralbag, Radak, Seforno, and Rav Saadiah Gaon, all “sweeter also than honey” (Psalms 19:11). Whomever acquires this book will be acquiring many commentaries from the works of earlier sages, who explained well the holy of holy words of King Solomon in this song, superior to all songs. There is an introduction from R. Zevi Hirsch on the verso of the title page and then the text. Shir ha-shirim is in the center of the page in square vocalized letters. In the inner column is Em le-Mikra, in the outer column Em Le-Massorah, both in rabbinic letters. Below the text is an explanation of terms.
