Detailed Description |
|
A booklet put out by the Canadian Jewish Congress encouraging families to consider taking in a Jewish child from a European DP camp into their homes. It was noted that most of the children were past the age of adoption and also that no legal obligations would be imposed. Brief verbal descriptions of a few typical children are given as examples.
"The Canadian Jewish Congress, as part of it's work for the rehabilitation of European Jewry, has secured permission for 1000 such children --boys and girls--up to the age of 18, to enter Canada, on the understanding that homes will be found for them..." |
