Description |

A volume put out by the Jewish Reform Community in Berlin with the Haftorah schedule for the synagogues using the "new rite". The first and last lines of the Haftorah are given in Hebrew and the text is the German translation of the text of the Haftorah. There is a table of contents, including listing the readings for special Sabbaths, such as the Sabbath of Chanuka.
Reform synagogues using the "new rite" had differing customs regarding the reading of the Torah. In some "the triennial cycle was adopted, though of late most congregations have reverted to the annual one - reading, however, only a small portion of each "parashah," which results in the Torah being read in disjointed fragments." |
