Description		    Supplemental records of the tribunal in the province of Regio (Supplimento Dell Ecco dei Tribunali, Sezione prima), nos. 1 through fourteen. All fourteen issues are concerned with the trial of Caliman Ravenna, an Italian Jew accused of defamation. The exact charges, given in the heading, is accusa del crimine di calunnia a danno dell' iaraelita caliman ravenna. mediante falsa imputazione di restrizone della liberta' personale e dissanguamento, that is, Ravenna is charged with defamation, slander, and of false imputation. The records provide the name of the president of the tribunal, Felice dott. Sacenti and all the participants, including prosecutors and defense attorney, avv. Farsetti. There are appendices in the supplemental records that date to the first half of the previous century. This case than, provides an unusual but penetrating window into an aspect of Italian Jewish history.
