Description		    Only edition. [3], 48, 28 ff. octavo 200:145 mm., usual age staining, nice margins. A very good copy bound in later boards, rubbed. This work was never fully completed at press.
          
Detailed
Description		    Ethical work with kabbalistic content and gematriot in two parts intended to arouse a spirit of repentance in man by R. Badukh Mas’ud Hai. The title page begins “Hear, O my people, and I will warn you” (Psalms 81:9) how great is the power of desire. Embedded in the heart of man and carved into his nature. It “will not rest” (Psalms 125:3) nor be quieted “until he has performed the lusts of his heart” (Jeremiah 23:20, 30:24) and to make it known besides. The title page is dated with the verse “For they are life to those who find them, and health (marpeh) to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:22). There is an introduction from R. Badukh and then the text, beginning with the verse “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do his commandments” (Psalms 111:10). The second part does not have a separate title page but does have its own foliation and introduction.
