Description		    Only edition of this ethical work by R. Hayyim Berush ben Jacob ha-Kohen. The title page describes it as explaining “reproofs of instruction” (Proverbs 6:23) and many occurrences concerning death, words of reproof to arpouse a person to remember the day of death from the Zohar, Talmud, and other holy works. For this reason he has entitled the book Tov Me’od (very good) for in the Medrash Tov me’od refers to the day of death. Furthermore, tov me’od has the numerical value of his name Hayyim and me’od equals Berush. The Sefer Roke’ah writes that one should allude to his name in his book, such as the Tanna d-bei Eliyahu. There are approbations from nine rabbis, four introductions from R. Hayyim Berush, and then the text, set in a single column in rabbinic letters. It begins with remembering the day of death, followed by the value of death. Shoshanna Halevy suggests that, based on the typography, the first two pages were actually printed at the Zuckermann press.
