Description
Beautifully illustrated Hebrew reading book for children by Moses Viskin-Nihartaniu with illustrations by Raphael Chamitzer. Fifty-one stories accompanied by numerous illustrations, several full page, and a full-page colored front-piece of a bare-breasted woman playing the harp before the king, presumablu King David. The remaining illustrations are black and white drawings. Many of the drawings are of side views of unclad figures. Several stories have a religious theme, while others have themes on children’s subjects. Among the contents are the morning; the trip; Ho, geese; to bed my child, hurry; the moon and children, to school, a poem; the shepherd; the market, Shabbat night; the beginning of spring in the field; Hannukah; narot Hannukah; snowfall; the Purim meal; borrowing and returning; and Mizmor le-David (Psalm 29). The text of le-Yeldanu is set in an attractive large vocalized font.
