Description		    Certificate authorizing kosher slaughter of fowl by R. Isaac Raphael b. Elisha Mikhoel Finzi (1728–1812), rabbi of Padua. He was born in Ferrara into a prominent family, his wife was the daughter of R. Abraham Sagre, rabbi of the Pahad Yitzhok. R. Finzi, in turn, was a student of the Pahad Yitzhok. He was a widely esteemed preacher, some of whose sermons were published. He was a member of the French Sanhedrin in 1806 and was elected its vice president.
