The Banet family copy:
R. Abraham Banet (18-19th cent) of Alt Ofen, and by decent to:
R. Jacob Gershon b. Elijah Banet (1846-1924) rabbi of Stomfa, inscribed on title (v.2). He was born in Alt Ofen and educated in the yeshiva of the Ktav Sofer. He suffered much during his lifetime by loss of spouses, children, and other calamities. An erudite scholar he served in the rabbinate for many years. |

In a compact size for easy portability. This basic text of Jewish law was often studied and appeared in numerous editions and sizes. The smaller versions were used by travelers to occupy their time during long journeys.

"חידושי דינים ... אבן העוזר" שולבו בתוך "הוספת בבאר היטב".
נוסח זה של "באר היטב", שבו משולבים דבריו של ר' יהודה ב"ר שמעון אשכנזי מטיקטין עם הוספות מתוך "אבן העוזר" והגהותיו של ר' אברהם אופנהיים "אשל אברהם", הוא הנוסח המקובל מכאן ואילך ברוב ההוצאות של אורח חיים. |
