This poster announces to the people of Jerusalem that an organization call Kupat HaSiyua HaYerushalmit has taken upon itself the responsibility to care for the needy citizens of the city, and it asks the community for help in this goal.
It begins by saying that in the streets of Jerusalem are poor people, exhausted elderly people, people with physical defects, etc. without food and livelihood. Emotions of pity are aroused by these miserable souls, and a great shame falls on the Jewish community in general, and on the residents of Jerusalem in particular… Kupat Ha Siyua HaYerushalmit has taken upon itself to divide the sufferers according to his need - he who needs medicine, he who needs food, he who needs a livelihood, he who needs works, etc...and it is asking the residents of Jerusalem to join with [the Kupa] to help those in need. The poster concludes with the sentence from Psalms – to raise up from the dust a poor person [ãì,] and a poor person [àáéåï] from the ashes.
