Detailed Description |

Letter by R. Menachem b. Zevi Joseph ha-Kohen Risikoff (b.1868). He was born and raised in Slonim where his father was Rosh Yeshiva. He studied in Vlozhin and was ordained by many Lithuanian notables. He served in the rabbinate of Kazan, Russia and left during the pogroms for the US where he was rabbi the of Orthodoctical Congregations of Brooklyn. An erudite scholar he wrote several works, published is Tiferet menachem (Vilnius 1894) homiletics and hadranim and Shaare Ratzon (2 v. New York 1931) novellae. |
