Description		    Only edition of this work utilizing aggadot to expalin the weekly Torah readings and festivals by R. Israel Hayyim b. Feivel Braun (Broin, 1869-1942), rabbi in Budapest. The title page informs that this volume is part one, on Bereshit, comprised orf divrei aggadah on Bereshit and festivals, Haqnukkah, Puriom, the Arba’ah Parshiot, and tanna’im and nessu’in, berit milah, and lag b’Omer. In addition it contains letters from leading geonim who responded to R. Braun on contemporary halakhic issues in Yoreh De’ah. R. Braun was rabbi in Halle on the Saale in Germany. There are approbations from R. Aaron Levin and R. Joseph Noble, followed by an introduction by R. Braun. The first part of Bet Yisrael is the aggadic elucidation of the parshiot. After the Torah section is the discourses on the festivals, including Pesah, Shavu’ot, and Sukkot, referenced as the festivals on the title page. The rest of text follows the description given on the title page, concluding with nine responsa, a gargar Katan, and an index of the contents.
