Description |

This is a textbook for learning Hebrew grammar, geared to students from 9 to 14, according to the author’s introduction. It is written in German with many extended passages in Hebrew. This is the only edition, and it was printed in Brilon by M. Friedländer in 1848.
The author Hayyim (Heimann) b. Jacob Leeser was born in Duelmen (Westphalia) in 1814. He worked as a teacher in Jewish schools. He passed his exam as an elementary teacher in Brilon in 1837; he worked as a teacher in Brilon (1833-1837), Luebeke (1837-1840); Beraburg in Anhalt (1840-1843), in Duelmen (1844-1855) and from then on again in Luebeke. |
