Detailed Description |
|
Three independent works bound together. The first title is Erets ha-Hayyim compiled by Hayyim ben Isaiah Liberzohn. This is the only edition of a compilation of hundreds of sayings brought from a wide variety of sources many hasidic, on a variety of subjects, such as biblical verses, misrashei hazel, as well as many true tales, conversations of zaddikim and their wonders. The text is organized alphabetically by hassidic rebbe. The second book is Yalkut Yisrael compiled by R. Israel ben Isaac Simhah Berger. It is actually a collection of three books, that is, a) Lashon Yisrael, on proper speech, addressing improper speech, the corresponding punishment, and correcting this sin; b) Berit Yisrael on the subject of the holiness of keeping the sign of the berit; and c) Mimon Yisrael, on the holiness of adhering to all aspects of correct monetary transactions. The third title is Beit Tefillah le-Moshe by R. Moses ben Nathan ha-Levi Rosenfeld. This is the only edition of Beit Tefillah le-Mosh, a detailed and comprehensive work on prayer based on the Talmud and poskim. |
