Description		    Kabbalistic commentary to to the initial word in Genesis, Bereshit, by R. Jacob b. Misod Avihazira (1808-1880). He was born in Egypt to a family of kabbalistic scholars and holy men. He served as Judge in Tafilalet, Morocco. A prolific writer and scholar, 12 of his works have been published many more remain in manuscript or have been lost. Many wonderful stories are told of his efforts and achievements in helping Moroccan Jewry survive the hostility of the Arabs. R. Jacob was respected and revered by Jews and gentiles alike. His grave site draws both for prayers and his intervention in the upper realms. He passed on on his way to Jerusalem. The work was bought to press by his son R. Abraham Avihazira.
