Description
Ethical work in Yiddish by an anonymous author. The financing and distribution is credit to R. David Mandel of Oradea. The title page states that it is Mussar Sefer, the contents having been translated from Hebrew into Yiddish, the original Hebrew is unknown. On the verso of the title page is a warning, in both Hebrew and Yiddish, against hasagut gavul (misappropriation). Next are approbations from R. Yoda Gruenfeld, R. Benjamin Fuks, R. Joseph Schecter, and R. Saul Brach of Nitra. There is a detailed table of contents, listing the chapters and subchapters in Ner David. The first chapter is on Emunah with twelve subchapters, followed by Avodat ha-Borei with 9 subchapters, Conducting business transactions faithfully (4), Faith (9), Providence 6(6), Yesurin shel Ahavah (15), Teshuvah from Ahavah (4), delight in this world (3), redemption (5), as well as several others. At the end of the book is a lengthy multi-page listing, organized by location, of the individuals who helped finance publication.
