Detailed
Description
Collection of the prayers recited at the cemetery and service for preparing the body prior to burial, according to the custom of the Congregation of Bushire [Abu Shehr]. Bushire is a port on the Persian Gulf which served as the port of refuge for Sheikh Sassoon ibn Salih of Baghdad, father of David Sassoon, when he fled the persecution of Daud Pasha of Baghdad. Sheikh Sassoon died in Bushire in 1830. His son went on to establish himself in Bombay. This work is probably the only one published according to the custom of this small Persian community.
