Description
   Popular Hebrew reader for children by R. Dov Aryeh ben Tuvia Michael Friedmann (1844-1920) rabbi, educator, and author. He was born in Suwalki and received a traditional education. R. Friedmann was a student of R. Philipower, followed by R. Abraham Plotshek who ordained him. He studied business in Berlin and moved to Warsaw where he taught bookkeeping for 20 years. He came to America in 1892 and served as rabbi in Worcester, Troy, Rochester and finally as principal in Philadelphia. A prolific writer he authored many books, some very popular, in education, religion, and history.
