Letter by R. Moshe Shmuel Shapiro (1914-2006) Rosh Yeshiva of Be'er Ya'akov. R. Shapiro was born in Minsk to his father R. Arye, rabbi of Bialystok. He was educated by his father, a grandson of the Neziv, and in 1933 entered the yeshiva of R. Elhanan Wasserman. He established the yeshiva in 1949 and continued to lead it until his passing. An erudite scholar, R. Shapiro served in many important community positions including the Moazot ha-Torah. |
