Appeal against the judgment in favor of Amos Ben Gurion (1920-2008), son of David Ben-Gurion, (1886-1973) first prime minister and defense minister of Israel. Amos Ben Gurion became assistant chief of police while his father was head of government, and, together with others, was accused of malfeasance. Among the most serious charges was that he collaborated with the Germans in stealing Jewish property. The charges were brought by three men, Shimon Albaum, Eliakum Hazoni, Hannan Rappoport, whom Ben Gurion successfully sued in court for slander, being awarded damages. They appealed the verdict, their case being detailed in Pesak ha-din against Amos Ben-Gurion.
Amos Ben-Gurion served in the British Army during World War II, and afterwards was appointed deputy police commissioner. He later became the CEO of the ATA textile factory, which in its time was Israel's largest and most important textile enterprise. |
