Description		    Handwritten kettubah for the marriage of Hayyim b. Judah and Haya Reiza b. Ben Zion in Ostrowo, Poland on Wednesday, 17 Av 5669. This lot is a striking example of the poverty stricken Polish Jewry which resorted to the simplest and cheapest materials. The poverty, however, also produced and sharpened some of the keenest minds in Rabbinic history.
