Description |

Brief document relieving the petitioner of tax payments.
The Author was rabbi and scribe of the community in Mantua in the 16th century. He was very active in public leadership in Mantua, and most documents of the period in Mantua were written in his hand or bear his signature. He also held other offices in the community administration. R. Melli was officially appointed Rabbi in Mantua in 1581 and held the position until his passing in 1590. His responsa are scattered throughout various collections and remain unprinted. |
