Description		    First edition, 2 volumes, [6], 116; 112; [2], 102; 102; 116 ff., 4 to., 195:138 mm., scattered worming, made up copy, damp and age staining, initial 2 f. of volume 2 with small loss, bound in modern full leather boards.
          
Paragraph 1    THE FIRST BOOKS PRINTED IN EGYPT. Except for a short-lived press at Fez in 1516, this appears to be one of the earliest printings in all of Africa. The first European press was not introduced into Egypt until after 1798 when the French occupied the country.

Description		    Rabbi Chaim Vital, the foremost of the disciples of the Ari z”l, advocated textual study as a means to mystical contemplation. Thus, this work, intended for study each morning, contains excerpts from the Bible, Mishnah, Talmud and Kabalistic literature.
