Description		    Novella of the Rashb”a and three other commentaries on tractate Menachot. Also includes Birkat HaZevach by R. Aaron Shmuel Keidanover, Tzon Kedoshim by R. A. C. Shor, and Chok Natan by R. A. N. Burgil. The Chafetz Chaim encouraged the learning of the tractates Kodoshim as a preparation for the building of the third temple, and in order to facilitate the study he published these commentaries. On the title page the Chafetz Chaim writes that that the Rashb”a’s commentary is authentic but he mentions that there is another opinion. See: Sarei HaEleph who writes in the name of R. Elchanan Wasserman, the main disciple of the Chafetz Chaim, that the Chafetz Chaim held that the commentary was really by Tosafot Ri”d.
          
Paragraph 2    חידושי הרשב"א ועוד שלושה פירושים על מסכת מנחות, ע"י ר' ישראל מאיר הכהן (ה"חפץ חיים"). מלבד חידושי הרשב"א, כולל הספר גם ברכת הזבח מאת רא"ש קאיידנובר, צאן קדשים מרא"ח שור, וחק נתן מר"נ בורגיל. ה"חפץ חיים" עודד מאד את הלימוד בסדר קדשים וזאת כהכנה לבנין בית המקדש, ולכן הדפיס את הפירושים האלו כדי להקל על הלומד. בשער כותב ה"חפץ חיים" שפירוש הרשב"א הוא אכן מר' שלמה בן אדרת (הרשב"א) אמנם הוא מביא גם דעה אחרת. עיין אודות זה בשרי האלף שמביא בשם ר' אלחנן ווסרמן תלמידו המובהק של ה"חפץ חיים" בשם ה"חפץ חיים" שבאמת זה תוספות רי"ד.
