Detailed
Description
The Chief Rabbi of the Bet Din for Moroccan Jews inquires of the Assistance Board as to "what transgression have you found within us" to decrease funding for the Yeshiva. The letter is co-signed by the Director of the Yeshiva R. Simon Aseriki. R. Joseph Hayyim b. Judah Ha'Kohen (1851-1921) was born in Mogador and came to Jerusalem in 1866. As an attestation to his renown, piety, and rabbinical scholarship his multi-volume work Minchat Kohen (Jerusalem 1902-11) carries the approbations of all prominent rabbis in Eretz Israel, Ashkenazim and Sephardim alike.
