Description		    Before and after photos of Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv, the "first all-Jewish city" in modern times, was founded in 1909, originally as a garden suburb of Jaffa, but it evolved in several decades, particularly from the 1930s, to become the largest urban settlement of the new yishuv and the core of conurbation which is, in fact, a kind of "megalopolis" stretching from Herzliyyah in the north to Rehovot in the south.
