Description
   Broadsheet announcing the hesped in Jerusalem for R. Gabriel Zev ben Jehiel Isaac Margolis (1848-1938). R. Margolis was descended from the Jehiel Heilprin (Seder ha-Dorot 1660–1746) and learned by R. Jacob Barit (1797-1883) in Vilna. He was married to the daughter of R. Nahum Kaplan of Grodno. He served as Av Bet Din in several cities in Lithuania and, after the passing of his father-in-law, in Grodno for twenty-eight years. He also participated in and signed enactments of rabbinic assemblies against Zionism and Mizrahi. R. Margolis accepted a position as Rav in Boston. in 1908 and in 1912 in New York, where he was the rav of Adat Yisrael. He was also the author of a number of works, among them, Agudat Azov (Vilna, 1895)m Torat Gavriel (Jerusalem 1912), and Haruzei Margoliot (Jerusalem 1912).

The hesped is announced for Thursday, 21 Elul at 6:00 P. M. at the Yeshiva ha-Gedolah Meah She’arim. Hespedim are to be delivered by R. Joseph Gershon Horowitz, Isaac Jacob Wachtfogel, and Jehiel Michel Mushkin.
