R. Elisha b. Gabriel Gallico (c. 1583), talmudic scholar and kabbalist in Safed. R. Gallico was a pupil of R. Joseph Caro and a member of his bet din. After the death of R. Joseph Caro he was a member of R. Moses Trani's bet din. R. Elisha was the teacher of R. Samuel Uceda and other prominent scholars. His signature appears - with the other scholars of Safed - on several responsa in R. Caro's Avkat Rokhel and other period responsa. The collection of R. Elisha's responsa has been lost; however several of them are quoted both in the work Keneset ha-Gedolah and in the responsa, Ba'ei Hayyei by R. Hayyim Benvenisti. R. Elisha wrote homiletic and kabbalistic commentaries on all the five scrolls. Toward the end of his life he headed a yeshiva in Safed.
R. Solomon Friedman (d. 1879) was the son of R. Abraham Jacob Friedman of Sadigur, and the son-in-law of R. Zvi Hirsch of Rimenov.
