Description		    Primarily a propaganda booklet for the Romanian Communist Government - tucked in is a Hebrew calendar for the year 5713 (1952-53). As in all communist countries, while officially sanctioned religious practice was not tolerated, thus the "official" rabbis were compelled to devise alternatives to disseminate the necessary religious information's needed to practice Judaism. This booklet contains the calendar - Judaism cannot exist without it, some religious customs, and the blessing for the completion of the sun's 28 year cycle which occurred on Passover of 5713. Several pages are devoted to a harsh anti-Zionist polemic for their efforts to negotiate repatriations with the German government, likewise the text is in Yiddish and Romanian so as not to identify with the Hebrew language used in Israel. A fascinating memento of communism and Jewish survival!
