Detailed
Description
Divrei Emet (3rd ed.) by R. Jacob Isaac b. Abraham Eliezer ha-Levy Horowitz (1745-1815) hasidic zaddik, one of the founders of the hasidic movement in Poland and Galicia, known by the epithet "Ha-Hozeh mi-Lublin" ("the Seer of Lublin"). R. Jacob Isaac was a pupil of R. Samuel-Shmelke Horowitz of Nikolsburg, of R. Dov Baer the Maggid of Mezhirech, and of R. Levi Isaac of Berdichev; his principal teacher, however, was R. Elimelech of Lizhansk. At first active in Lancut and later in Rozwadow, during the 1790s he moved to Chekhov, a suburb of Lublin, and finally to Lublin itself. R. Jacob Isaac, a renowned zaddik and miracle worker, was mainly responsible for making Congress Poland and Galicia into great hasidic centers. However, he himself did not found a dynasty and his many Hasidim became followers of his disciples. The majority of Polish and Galician zaddikim who headed the hasidic movement during the first half of the 19th century were among his disciples. He attracted followers from various social strata. R. Isaac Meir b. Israel Alter, founder of the Gur dynasty, regarded him as "everyone's rabbi" (Me'ir Einei ha-Golah (1928), 18).

The second work is an oft reprinted collection of Chasidic teachings by several promint Rebbes, i.e. the Besht, R. Dov Ber of Mesridge and several others.
