Lyuboml, city in Volyn oblast, Ukraine has not been kind to its Jewish population. The Germans occupied the town on June 27, 1941, removed the Jewish population to the fields and nearby villages, and burned part of the town. A series of pogroms took place in Lyuboml in which hundreds of Jews were killed. The remaining Jews were executed on Oct. 1–2, 1942. Altogether, all the 10,000 Jews from Lyuboml and its vicinity were killed in the town and the surrounding woods. After the war, the Jewish community of Lyuboml was not reconstituted.
