Description		    First prayer book in pure German. Includes the liturgy for: weekdays, Shabbat, Festivals, High Holy Days, and Avot all in German, with paragraph headings in Hebrew. David Friedlander was a key student of Moses Mendelssohn. The Reform Movement, in Germany, established prayer in the language of the country, and David Friedlander is considered among the first Reformers. Praying in the language of the country (even without any changes in the liturgy) created an enormous controversy, and many rabbinic leaders attacked it with vehemence. Contains extra dedication page to Author's mother and mother-in-law.
          
Paragraph 2    סדור לכל השנה בגרמנית באותיות עבריות, ע"י דוד פרידלנדר. אמשטרדם, בדפוס שלמה פרופס. תקס"ז (1807). [5], קיד, קיד, קיד – קלז, [1] דף, 19 ס"מ. הסדור הראשון בגרמנית צחה. כולל סדור לחול, שבת, מועדים וימים נוראים, עם פרקי אבות. הכל בגרמנית, עם ראשי פרקים בלשון הקודש. דוד פרידלנדר היה תלמידו החשוב של משה מנדלסון. כידוע שנים אחדות לאחר הדפסת הסדור החלה תנועת הרפורמה בגרמניה שחרטה על דגלה תפלה בשפת המדינה, ודוד פרידלנדר נחשב כאחד מראשוני הרפורמים. על דבר זה להתפלל בשפת המדינה (אף שעדיין לא הוכנסו שום שינויים בסדור התפלה) קמה סערה גדולה, והרבה רבנים יצאו נגד זה בשצף קצף.
