Description		    Addressed to R. Moses Blau in Jerusalem.

R. Mordecai b. Moses Vorhand (1887-1945) was ordained by his uncle, R. Hillel Lichtenstein and other noted rabbis. He served as chief judge of Nitra, followed by the same prestigous position in Bethluen. He is the author of Be'er Mordecai, responsa and novellae on the laws of Niddah and Mikveh (Galanta 1927); Kinyan Hadash (Budapest 1923) on the laws of Ketubah. R. Vorhand became a Holocaust victim, he perished in the Bergen Belzen ovens.
