Strongly worded broadsheet protesting actions of religious extremists signed by numerous leading rabbis in Erez Israel and concluding with a Herem against the newspaper Kol Yisrael. The text informs that for several years some irresponsible individuals, zealots, took upon themselves the horns to gore the community of the faithful, to tear down the congregation of Israel in the land of Israel. In the name of Torah they cast down the honor of the Torah. With the name of Yirah Shemayim they profane the name of Shamayim. They cause disputes between the Haredim and attack gedolim. Their actions destroy the Haredi community and introduces the poision of hate and dispute in the Temple of the Torah, reaching into the yeshivot and the schools of children. It further relates that these disputants have exceeded all bounds, having the impudence to publicize their position, going so far as to add unauthorized names, disparaging the leading rabbis in Jerusalem.
This broadsheet is an expression of the pain and protest at the profanation and disrespect for the honor of Jerusalem, the honor of its yeshivot, and of the Torah, instructing them to cease their activities. The broadsheet bears the names of thirty rabbis, from such disparate places as Me’ah Shearim and Brooklyn. It concludes with a prohibition and herem against the newspaper Kol Yisrael for defaming rabbis, prohibiting purchasing or supporting it.
