Description		    On Shabbat from R. Isaac Jacob Rabinovich. The title page states that the subject matter is Shabbat and that the author was the holy R. Isaac Jacob of Biala, son of the righteous R. Nathan David of שידלאווצי and son-in-law of R. Joshua of Ostrova. There is an introduction from the author’s son, R. Abraham Joshua Heschel, who brought Yishrei Lev to press. R. Heschel announces his intention to also print his father’s Divrei Binah. R. Heschel writes that his father named this work Yishrei Lev because it alludes to his father-in-law, R. Joshua ben Solomon Judah Leib and to his name Isaac Jacob. Similarly, Divrei Binah is so named because it includes the names of his antecedents, which he then enumerates and expounds on. The text is in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting headers and initial words.

R. Isaac Jacob Rabinovich (d. 23 Adar 1905) was greatly admired by his father’s Hasidim and, with his father’s statement that he was a “holy Jew,” was appointed admor upon his father-in-law’s death. The phrase that “a sage is greater than a prophet” was applied to R. Rabinovich.
