Collection of sermons and derashot on Haftarot for the entire year by R. Joseph Nobel. The full title is Thabor: betrachtungen über die Haftaras vom ganzen Jahre. The title page has the verse “Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in your name” (Psalms 89:13) in both Hebrew and German and informs that R. Nobel was rabbi in Halberstadt. There is a dedication to R. Israel (sic) Hildesheimer (1820-99), an introduction, and the text, which is entirely in Fraktor, excepting occasional Hebrew phrases. The text covers the Haftarot for the entire year, including festivals.
R. Nobel was a prolific writer. Among his other titles are Hermon, versuche über Israels ebensideen im geiste des agadischen schriftthums (Frankfurt a.
