Detailed
Description
Critical annotations on Amos, Joel, Obadiah in Latin by Salomon Kusznitski. The full title is Parentibus dilectissimis. Hace Studiorum Primitias Pii Gratique Animi. Documentum Esse. The text has numerous detailed footnotes throughout. Kusznitski makes use of Jewish biblical commentators, particularly Kimchi (R. David ben Joseph Kimhi, Radak, c. 1160-c.1235) and of Ewaldii, presumably the Christian biblical scholar, Georg Heinrich August Ewald (1803-75), for whom the people of Israel were truly "the people of God," and its history the history of true religion, though from the point of view he takes the last page of that history was written eighteen hundred years ago. Ewald had only contempt for the people whom as the creators of the Bible and the N.T. he glorified. At the end of the volume is vita, that is, biographical information Kusznitski.
