R. Isaac b. Isaiah Isaher Ber Weiss (1870-1942) was born and raised in Pressburg. A devoted student of R. Benjamin Sofer, R. Weiss became an erudite scholar, and served in illustrious rabbinical positions before settling in Verbau. He wrote many responsa and scholarly works which he took with him to the concentration camps where they perished with him. A collection of works , Siah Isaac, was printed in 1990 from a surviving manuscript.
