Description		    Pentateuch, Haphtorot, and the five scrolls with a German translation on facing page.

R. Isaac Dov ha-Levi Bamberger (1807–1878), rabbi of Wuerzburg, together with R. Abraham Adler rabbi of Aschaffenburg, and R. Meir Lehmann rabbi of Mainz, published this German translation of the Pentateuch (1873) on behalf of the Orthodox-Israelitische Bibelanstalt to counter L. Philippson's Bible translation, against which he had published a polemical pamphlet (1860).
