Polemic against Chasidim by a member of the Haskalah.
Jehiel b. Zev Rappaport (1825-1896) was born in Tarnopol to strictly Orthodox parents. At an early age he took an interest in secular studies an pursued them. In 1853 he left Tarnopol for a career in business which lasted several years. He eventually returned to Tarnopol and died there.
