Despite the fact that the title page gives the place of printing as Korets it was in fact printed in Laszcow. It initially appeared that there were two editions of Or ha-Hakhmah, one printed in Korets and the other in Laszcow, and that the printer, to avoid transgressing the prohibition on trespass, had backdated the work. On closer inspection, it became apparent that there is one edition, printed in Laszcow – a very small number of copies state Laszcow – and that the printer, to avoid penalties from the authorities as the book lacked the censor’s stamp of approval, made changes to the title page and backdated it. One proof of the changes made is from the approbation of R. Meir of Brod, dated Tuesday, 16 Menahem Av 553 (1793). This date, with the others, has been modified. However, although the year was changed the remainder of the date was left unchanged. 16 Menahem Av was a Thursday in 1793. A similar error can be also found in another approbation.

חלק א: בראשית-שמות. [2], עו, מו דף. בדף [2,ב], בשולי הקדמת בן המחבר, ר' מנחם מענדיל, נאמר: "הקדמת המביא לבית הדפוס ללא צורך כי הוצאת הדפוס מרובה ובפרט כי כבר מלתו אמורה בחלק שני הנדפס ראשונה מטעם האמור בהקדמתו לחלק שני". יש טפסים עם שינויים בשער: קארעץ במקום לאשצוב, והפרט: והחכמה ת'ע'ז' ל'ח'כם' מעשרה שליטים [תקנ"ה, 1795]. בטפסים אלה נשמטו מן השער שמות המביאים לדפוס ושם המדפיס; תאריכי ההסכמות נשתנו (במקום תקס"ח ותקע"ג נדפס תקנ"ג ותקנ"ה). חוץ משינויים אלה דומים הטפסים אחד לשני. מדפיסי לאשצוב השתמשו בערמה זו, כדי להשתמט מעונשי הממשלה, שהדפיסו ספר בלא רשיון הצנזור. לשם זה הדפיסו שנית שני הדפים הראשונים של החלק הראשון והדף הראשון של החלק השני: בשערים החדשים קארעץ היא עיר הדפוס, הפרט תקנ"ה, תאריכי ההסכמות שונו, שיתאימו עם התאריך הבדוי שבשער. בטפסים בהם קארעץ היא עיר הדפוס נאמר בשער החלק השני: "נדפס פה ק"ק קארעץ תחת ממשלת אדונינו המיוחס הגדול החסיד הדוכס יוזיף טשארטריסקי...". עיין: א' יערי, הדפוס העברי בלאשצוב, קרית ספר, יב, תרצ"ה-תרצ"ו, עמ' 241; הדרום, טז, תשכ"ג, עמ' 143. יש טפסים שנלווה להם דף (בנייר כחול) שנדפס כנראה בסדילקוב, המכיל הסכמת ר' אברהם יהושע העשיל, מעזיבוז, ו שבט תקע"ו. עיין קובץ שפתי צדיקים, א, שבט תשמ"ט, עמ' עג (עם צילום ההסכמה).
