Detailed Description |
|
Segulot and other remedies, including amulets and fortunes assembled by Isaac ben Eliezer. The title page has a decorative border; the author informs that these have been collected from scattered sources, much from the work Shorshei ha-Shemot (Mekor ha-Shemot) by ha-Remaz (R. Moses Zacuto, c. 1620-97). This edition was brought to press by Elijah Abrham Mizrahi (Sephardi Tohor). The title page also includes a warning against hasagut gavul (trespass). There is an introduction from the compiler and then the text which is divided by topic. The refuot and segulot are for a wide variety of situations, from time of plague to barrenness. These cures are brought in the name of famous kabbalists. The book has numerous charts and illustrations of charms. The volume concludes with verse from the publisher. The text is in a single column in square unvocallized letters. The title page and verso have owners’ signatures.
