Description		    Novellae and derashot on Shulhan Arukh by R. Rahamim Nissim Isaac ben Hayyim Palaggi (Palache). This is the completion of a comprehensive halakhic work begun in 1872 by a leading Sephardic rabbinic figure, scion of the famed Palaggi family. The title page has a decorative frame and follows R. Palaggi’s name with ס"ט Sephardi Tahor. It is dated, “Hallelujah! I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright לבב בסוד ישרים (666 = 1906), [and in the congregation]. The verso of the titile page has an announcement to the reader concerning the author’s books, followed by a table related to the book. Several of these pages, including the blank verso of the table page, have attractive decorative front pieces. The text begins with new foliation on Orah Hayyim טבא (1a-12a), Yoreh De’ah (12a-17a), and addenda (17a-18a). A blank page with a decorative design follows and then part two of Yofe le-Lev with separate foliation. It begins with hilkhot Gittin (1a-17a), then halakhot on Hoshen Mishpat (17a-19a), concluding with derashot for Shabbat (19a-45b), such as Shabbat Zecor and Shabbat ha-Gadol, addenda (45b-48a), and then homiles on the weekly parsha (48a-67a).
