Detailed
Description
The first work was published in 1864 and is one of the deepest nd weightiest of all Browning's work and consists of 32 stanzas of 6, 192 lines. It is the most simply sacred - a fine setting to English verse of the spirit of Hebrew psalmody and literature - a soliloquy of the Rabbi in his age... The latter work was likewise published in 1864 in his volume "Dramatis Personae", a work that revived Browning's public standing.
