Detailed
Description
Calendar, for the use of Mashgihim (supervisors for compliance with the kosher laws) in charge of supervising the milking for, and the production of cheese. The calender proper, on the first 22 pp., is arranged into tables to record the daily morning and evening milking sessions separately. This detail is of interest in the light of the production methods in those days (farmer's cheese). The month of Shevat, coinciding roughly with January, is appropriately omitted, since no milking for cheese was done during that period. The last two pages contain tables to register shipments of cheese to Amsterdam. These calendars were most probably issued by the Amsterdam Chief Rabbinate, for distribution among the Mashgichim. Most probably an unicum.
